Resuscitative Procedures Cadaveric Skills Course 3rd January 2023
A one-day multi-disciplinary, cadaveric skills course open to consultant or final year registrars in
Emergency Medicine and Pre-hospital Medicine, as well as Paramedics and Band 6+ nurses/AHPs or
working in Major Trauma Centre Emergency Departments
Our course focuses on key life-saving operative manoeuvres for the roadside and emergency department,
for instance front of neck access, resuscitative hysterotomy, thoracostomy, thoracotomy, canthotomy,
amputation. Training will include indications for each procedure and real-life scenario discussions

Damage Control Simulation & Cadaveric Training: “Fire-fighting” for Orthopaedic Teams 4-5TH JANUARY
We're really excited to deliver the latest iteration of the 'firefighting' course. In January 2023 we will bring the tried and tested formula of combining resus simulation, cadaver based procedures and expert task based simulation with a focus on Orthopaedic injury.
This is a two-day multi-disciplinary simulation & cadaveric skills course open to Consultant or final year
registrars in Orthopedics, anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine, as well as ODPs, EAPs and scrub staff
Day 1:
Surgeons, ODPs, EAPs, Anaesthetists, Emergency Medicine Drs
Focus on key decision-making skills to manage major poly-trauma patients in first 24 hours
Team-based simulation training with lectures on key points, including mass casualty scenarios
Venue: Simulation suite, University of Salford
Day 2:
Surgeons, ODPs, EAPs, Anaesthetists, Scrub Staff
Orthopedic cadaveric skills training based on damage control principles
Anesthetic decision-making & practical skills including surgical airway, thoracostomy,
thoracotomy, splinting and circulatory access

Manchester Pelvic Trauma Course Friday 5th January 2023
Decision making, planning, approaches, Ex-Fix, ORIF training for trainees, SAS and Consultants.
This one day course will incorporate the development of surgical skills in a cadaveric workshop with clinical decision making in pelvic trauma, from arrival at the Emergency Department to emergency management in the hybrid theatre and definitive treatment. The faculty are nationally-renewed experienced pelvic trauma surgeons, and the high faculty to participant ratio will ensure maximal hands on experience.
